Nicolas Ménard and Manshen Lo open the door to ‘The House’ with an elegant title sequence. Co-creating a visual language that encapsulates the three distinct stop-frame worlds featured in the Netflix film, delicately filled with tension. Working closely with the Directors of ‘The House’, they identified the importance of visual contrast between the film and the titles. Drawing inspiration from 19th century woodcuts as a starting point for their creative process, the pair committed to only showing the essential when creating these shape-shifting environments. In collaboration with Oscar-winning composer, Gustavo Santaolalla the visuals and music were conceived alongside each other and the animation finessed, in line with the mood, instrumentation and pacing of the entire feature.
