Category Description

A system of motion graphic elements intended to present information within a news program for television or streaming

Project Description

VICE News Tonight’s Breaking the Vote takes on the rise of conspiracy theories and violence within the voting rights political sphere. We track the growing assault on voting rights, and efforts to undermine the democratic process in America. Our visual language for it appropriates traditional American iconography, but with an abstract slant that evokes the unease of living through this moment. The red and blue colors are slightly muted and shifted to show that everything is not right in this space. Photos are used only in portions. It all gives a slightly uneasy tone.
