“Cool For You”, an animated film based on the book of the same title, explains global warming to children in a friendly way. Incorporating different characters and families, animals and plants, children are introduced to CO2, and positive, easy ways to improve our impact on the earth. This film utilizes “cut-out” animation based on the Photoshop illustrations created by the book’s illustrator. Combined with sweet music and sound effects, the book comes to life in movement. The project was created at the height of the global pandemic, when recording studios were closed, so the director incorporated her husband and children’s voices into all the character’s voiceovers. The film has now been shown at film estivals around the United States, as well as Europe.
